Okay, so has no one tried out the AIG or (more likely) has no one
bothered to give me any feedback?
Version 1 is available from the CBATNAM webpage and version 1b
is available from my AMOS-webpage...
I will clarify what the AIG does:
Using a paint-program such as PersonalPaint or DeluxePaint, you
draw your images on an IFF screen. You do NOT need to draw a
"frame" around each image.
Just load the IFF into the AIG and it will scan the entire IFF (which
can be up to 1024 pixels tall I believe), scrolling the screen up as
needed so you can view the process.
Unlike what I said in one of my previous messages, the AIG actually
scans from Top to Bottom, LEFT To RIGHT, one row at a time.
When it finds a piece of an image the AIG will automatically sort out
the area the image uses and grab that image which will be placed into
either the Bob or Icon bank, depending on which you specified in the
Options menu.
When the IFF has been fully processed, IF you have Auto-Centering
turned ON (under the Options menu), the images will all be
automatically width-aligned (according to the 16-pixel boundary
needed for the blitter) and centered horizontally.
So, the point is you do NOT need to do ANYTHING else, period...
In addition, you can import Bob and Icon Abk-files which are
appended to the appropriate bank. This allows you to merge a
bunch of seperate Abk-files into one file and if Auto-Centering is
ON, these imported Images will also be width-aligned and centered
horizontally.
You can work with both Bobs and Icons in the same session, simply
switching between the two by using the Grab Bob/Icons menu-option.
Choose the Display Statistics option under the Project-menu to see
how many Bob and Icon images are in the current banks...
Take care,
GARFIELD
